A solar photovoltaic system can produce 4 to 50 kilowatts of electricity. Generally, a 10-kilowatt system generates approximately 16,500 kilowatt of electricity in a year.

With the use of enough solar panels and high rate of sunlight, a large solar PV system can independently power home and buildings. It can also be used in small remote solar systems that can power electric fences and traffic signs.
